Our Process for Respraying
We handle every project with care and attention. This is your home after all and we pride ourselves on taking care of your furniture and cabinetry. For painting of furniture or the Do It Yourself kitchen option, bring your goods to the Hamilton or Burlington location. We apply a five-step process to take care of your items.
Our first step is to clean and degrease the piece using TSP (TriSodium Phosphate) and then sand, doing minor touch-ups to cover some marks and scratches.
Two coats of primer are applied, with sanding between each application. We use a GREENGUARD certified, low VOC water borne primer. This primer is based on breakthrough European resin technology that produces no hazardous off-gassing during cure. Its new technology provides for a beautiful appearance.
Then two coats of lacquer are applied, with sanding between the applications. We use SHERWIN WILLIAMS lacquer, a high quality, durable waterborne, low VOC product suitable for the high-performance needs in a high traffic kitchen or bathroom. The resulting hard resilient finish will impress you.
The entire process takes 2-3 weeks.
For Do It Yourself Kitchen projects we will provide you with a DIY Kit this includes primer, matching cabinet paint, sandpaper and instructions.
For full-service kitchen projects, our field staff will attend your home to take care of everything. We will remove the doors, taking off all hardware, and bring them into our shop for expert painting as described above. We will return to your home to prime and paint the bases and uppers, end gables etc. We will return to hang the freshly painted doors, installing the hardware and aligning the cabinetry. Our professional staff will attend your home with minimal disruption to you and your kitchen. You do not have to remove all of the contents of your cupboards, we ask that contents be removed or pushed back so that we may access the hinges and screws, and that the countertops are cleared.
We have a compliment of in-house colours to choose from or are happy to spray paint any custom colour you desire for a small upcharge. Handles and hinges can be updated, custom carpentry modifications are available such as changing out cabinets to accommodate a new appliance, adding crown moulding, a custom built island, the options are wide and varied when respraying your cabinets. Please contact us to discuss your project ideas. It is as easy as sending us some cell phone pictures of your existing kitchen with a door and drawer count to begin the conversation. Our Process for Refacing
The onsite process is similar as described above, with refacing however you choose a new door that is then professionally spray painted with lacquer to a colour of your choice. We offer a variety of door profiles to select from, all come with Euro hinges and new handles. Our staff attend your home to measure the cabinetry. This is then ordered for you and generally takes 2 weeks to be received. Once the doors are received they go into production to be painted. Our staff attend your home to remove the old doors, do any carpentry modifications requested, and prime and paint the bases, uppers and gables. They then return to hang the new painted doors, installing new hardware and aligning the cabinetry. New countertops, sinks and faucets can also be chosen and coordinated. Our process takes 2-3 weeks once the new doors have been received. Please contact us to discuss your project ideas.
